We have presented a research report as a call to action on the issue of racism towards Syrians in the public opinion in Turkey, which has increased due to the influence of political programs. This report is intended to be sent to various Non-Governmental Organizations, thereby inviting these organizations to collaborate and act together.

The message of this call presented through a research report is as follows:

This report is merely a record. It does not contain a preface that suggests a tendency towards solving the problem it indicates. While it significantly outlines the problem through various indicators and attempts to express it through demonstration, it still leaves a part of that problem unresolved. For instance, it has been shown through negation that the core of the problem is not a material issue. Thus, it implicitly tries to shift attention from a secondary problem that requires apolitical social aid as a solution, to a fundamental issue of racism that is or will be politicized.

Even if there have been various engagements between the reader and us upon these definitions, various responses might have arisen in some minds, for example, “Our area of activity is not this.” However, we believe that this cannot be the answer, because, having “a priori” accepted among us the obligation to command good and prevent evil, merely not agreeing on what is good and what is evil will lead to a hesitation among us. Yet, disagreement alone is not sufficient to hinder the attempt to agree.

And finally, our message to the reader – just as we promised at the beginning – will be this: Organize a gathering regarding the issue of Syrians in our country and invite all civil society organizations concerned with this issue – including us – to this major meeting. We are ready to take on a responsibility assigned to us in this larger, stronger, and more accurate organization. But whatever we do, let’s do it together, and let it be before racism awakens from its slumber.

These are all the wishes of this message.
